Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) supports student achievement by directly teaching students school-wide and classroom expectations. PBIS is a proactive system of teaching and modeling expected behaviors, and recognizing students engaging in them. We believe that when effectively implemented and supported, PBIS maintains a safe and effective learning environment.

Common language and shared expectations help make PBIS successful. The Oriole Promise--Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Your Best--provides our common language, and our shared expectations for appropriate and expected behavior in the school building and while attending school functions provide consistency for students. All faculty and staff members are active participants in PBIS, demonstrating behavior that meets the standard set by the Oriole Promise, and supporting and recognizing students as they also strive to meet it.

PBIS Matrix

We instill a lifelong love of learning and promote the achievement of the individual within a positive learning climate. At Springville expectations are cooperatively set by school personnel, students, families, and the community.
